Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) - The city has issued strict conditions for the anti-corona demonstrations planned in Darmstadt on Sunday.

Among other things, all participants in the rallies must adhere to the safety distances applicable due to the pandemic and wear mouth and nose covers.

The police announced on Friday that they would strictly and consistently monitor compliance with the orders.

It is their job to ensure "that these rules for the protection of the population are observed," it said in a message.

At the same time, she advised driving to avoid the city center.

The rallies and the associated police operations could lead to significant traffic obstructions.

Events are planned in several places in the southern Hessian city: A demonstration with an expected 900 participants, registered by critics of the corona restrictions, was moved by the authorities from Karolinenplatz to the Böllenfalltor parking lot in the southeast of the city on Wednesday.

Several counter-demonstrations will take place at the same time.
