Mauritania launches the first vaccination campaign against the Corona virus

Yesterday, the Mauritanian authorities launched, for the first time, a vaccination campaign against the emerging corona virus, with the aim of limiting and preventing the spread of the epidemic.

The Mauritanian President, Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al-Ghazwani, supervised the launch of the campaign from the National Hospital Center in the capital, where the head of the anesthesia department at the National Hospital, Dr. Mohamed Ould Babha, received the first dose of the Chinese vaccine Sinopharma, which Mauritania obtained free from China, through 50 thousand doses I arrived from Beijing two days ago.

The Minister of Health, Mohamed Nethirou Ould Hamed, said that the vaccination operations would later expand to reach the governorates, and that it was decided to give priority to medical staff, the elderly and people with chronic diseases.
