Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Berlin FDP is voting today (from 10:00 a.m.) its top candidate for the election to the House of Representatives.

As in 2016, Sebastian Czaja (37), who led the party back to the state parliament after five years of abstinence, and has been the parliamentary group leader there since then, is running.

At its party conference, which is being held online because of the corona pandemic, the FDP also decides on its election program.

Above all, she focuses on the topics of economy, education, building and housing as well as digitization and hopes to convince the voters on September 26th.

In the 2016 election, the FDP moved into the House of Representatives with 6.7 percent of the second vote.

With eleven members, it is the smallest of the six parliamentary groups.

Your designated top candidate Czaja was a member of the CDU from 1999 to 2005 before he switched to the FDP.

From 2006 to 2011 he sat in the House of Representatives.

From 2015 to 2020 Czaja was General Secretary of the Berlin FDP.
