Munich (dpa / lby) - TSV 1860 Munich has extended defender Phillipp Steinhart's contract beyond the end of the season.

The 28-year-old was trained by the “Löwen” and has been a regular player for years, especially on the left side of defense.

How long Steinhart's new contract will run was not announced by the traditional football club on Friday.

It was only on Monday that he scored the goal of the 1-0 victory in the top match in the 3rd division against leaders Dynamo Dresden.

During the season, the native of Dachau scored five goals and four assists.

“Phillipp delivers consistently stable performances across all seasons and in his position is a constant pillar in our defensive and offensive game,” said sports director Günther Gorenzel.

Steinhart himself was “grateful because I still have big goals for the team and this big club in the future.

That is why I want to continue doing my part to achieve this and I am proud to be part of it over the next few years ».
