"We can confirm that 13 people have contracted the Breton strain of the coronavirus," TASS quoted the head of the regional health agency (ARS) Stefan Mulier.
He clarified that seven of them died.
The head of the agency also said that at the moment 219 more possible cases of the disease with this strain are being studied.
On March 26, in France, a coronavirus infection was detected in 45 641 people per day.
The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the country has risen to 4,424,087.
