Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Minister of Culture Bettina Martin (SPD) has awarded the State Culture Prize 2021.
The main prize is endowed with 10,000 euros and the sponsorship award with 5000 euros, as Martin announced on Thursday in Schwerin.
The culture prize can be awarded to individual artists or groups for a work or for the entire work.
A close relationship to the country and its people is required, as it was called.
With regard to the restrictions for the cultural scene in view of the corona pandemic, Martin said: "With the state culture award, we want to set an example this year all the more how important art and culture are to us and that they are an indispensable part of our social life."
Proposals can therefore be submitted to the ministry until April 20th.
