Police were shot during an operation in Enköping

It was just before 8 pm on Thursday evening that a shooting occurred in Enköping.

According to Aftonbladet, the police shot a man in his 50s who was wearing a pistol-like weapon.

- We have had an effort, that is what I can say right now, said the police's spokesperson Tobias Ahlén just before 10 pm.

- Police cars blocked off the street.

Then we saw how the policemen put on bulletproof vests and armed themselves with reinforcement weapons.

The police shouted at passers-by to disappear, then I heard something that I think was a warning shot and then the police started running, says an anonymous witness at the scene to SVT and adds:

- Then I did not see what happened but I perceived the sound of two more shots.

An ambulance has been on the scene and picked up a person.
