Berlin (dpa / bb) - It is currently still open how the deployment of doctors in the six Berlin vaccination centers will be organized in the medium term.

The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) Berlin terminated the contract with the Senate on cooperation with the vaccination centers last week on April 30th.

"How we will continue to organize doctors in the future is currently being examined," said Health Senator Dilek Kalayci on Thursday in the House of Representatives.

"That can continue with the KV, that can be another service provider, that can be done by the DRK."

There are many variants for this.

"I am confident that we will have it well organized as it has been so far and that we will continue to organize it well in the future," said the SPD politician.

"The willingness of the doctors in the vaccination centers to help is still very high."

Without the termination, the contract would have been extended by another three months, explained Kalayci.

"That is why it is formally understandable that one says whether the vaccination centers will continue to run for three months has not yet been discussed and treated."

Kalayci said she had never heard the doctors should be withdrawn after April 30th.

"And KV couldn't do that either."

The cooperation has gone well so far, said the senator.

"Every now and then there were not enough doctors in the vaccination centers," says Kalayci.

"We were able to compensate for that quite well with vaccination doctors from my company or DRK vaccination doctors."
