He was prevented from exercising his profession and from providing assistance to a sick person.

A general practitioner working for the SOS Médecins network was attacked by a group of individuals Tuesday evening in Saint-Nazaire, reports the national police.

At around 8:45 p.m., the doctor's vehicle, surmounted by a flashing light, was surrounded in the Bouletterie district, not far from the Océanis roundabout.

The health professional was apostrophized by a dozen young people.

A paving stone has been thrown in one of its panes.

The doctor then considered it more prudent to turn around even if a patient was waiting for him in an apartment.

Warned by the general practitioner, the patient then alerted the police.

The victim was not injured.

, the practitioner considers that what happened Tuesday evening was "violent, shocking and serious" but remains convinced that he was not targeted as a doctor.

The attackers allegedly mistook him for a police officer.
