Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Southwest Greens around Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann are continuing their exploratory talks with the SPD and CDU today.

After the second meeting with the FDP on Wednesday, the Greens also want to explore the chances of a traffic light alliance with the Social Democrats (10:00 a.m.).

Then the CDU delegation (1.30 p.m.), headed by Thomas Strobl, will come to the Stuttgart House of Architects to talk about a new edition of the currently ruling green-black coalition.

Kretschmann has not yet revealed which coalition he would rather have.

In the coming week, the talks are to go into a third round, announced Kretschmann on Wednesday evening after the meeting with the liberals around country chief Michael Theurer and the parliamentary group chairman Hans-Ulrich Rülke.

The conversation with the FDP, which was supposed to revolve around content more than the first last week, lasted an hour longer than planned.

Kretschmann called the conversation constructive.

Theurer praised the atmosphere of the conversation as "extremely positive".

Rülke, who had often sharply criticized the Greens in the past, said that one did not get the impression that there were irreconcilable opposites.

Green party leader Andreas Schwarz called the talks "very constructive, enriching, fruitful".

One has come closer.

"I was already taken with what was presented to us."

He sees the FDP making a serious effort to be ready to enter into a coalition - in contrast to 2016.
