Cuxhaven / Wittmund (dpa / lni) - Many people are unsettled by the often changing Corona regulations: Tourist overnight stays are prohibited at Easter, but what about a day trip?

Despite the ongoing lockdown, Lower Saxony does not want to ban day tourism.

In the end, however, the counties decide.

- Cuxhaven: The district of Cuxhaven plans to ban day tourism over the holidays.

"We want to protect our fellow human beings," said the spokesman for the city of Cuxhaven, Marcel Kolbenstetter.

Recently, the influx on the beach was very strong on weekends with good weather.

It is still unclear what will apply to second home owners and long-term campers at Easter.

"We hope that we can take the season with us after Easter."

- Juist: Day tourism is seldom possible on the East Frisian island due to the ferry's tidal schedule - and the times do not match at Easter.

"Easter is done for us," said a member of the community.

Second home owners and their families can come for a few days.

However, you are not allowed to rent to acquaintances.

But that happens: "There are people standing at the port and don't know where 'their' apartment is."

The public order office and the police are responsible for taking action against such abuses.

- Wittmund district with the islands of Langeoog and Spiekeroog: Langeoog's mayor Heike Horn assumes that day trips to the East Frisian island will be possible.

However, not many guests will be able to come: "The Corona timetable still applies with relatively few ferries and limited numbers of passengers," she said.

The same goes for Spiekeroog.

However, a day trip there is recommended at most on Easter Monday: Then the ferry from Neuharlingersiel already leaves in the morning, on the other Easter days only at noon.

- Norddeich: The tourism experts prepare for day trippers.

"We are already expecting that more holidaymakers will come at Easter," says the spokeswoman for the North-Norddeich tourism service.

Much more than a walk on the beach will hardly be possible for the guests, since all tourist facilities will remain closed.

It is currently being checked whether individual beach chairs that should be on the water's edge by then can be opened.

- Dangast: Spa director Johann Taddigs appeals to people not to come to Dangast at Easter.

"We can't offer any service," he said.

Because the restaurants are closed, there are not enough toilets.

He also fears a major waste and disposal problem, as the guests bring their own food and a corresponding amount of packaging.

However, the parking spaces in Dangast should remain open and not be closed in spring like last year.

- Bremerhaven: Day-trippers are welcome in Bremerhaven.

"You can go along the dike, have a picnic and watch ships," said the city spokesman, Volker Heigenmooser.

The zoo by the sea will also be open; entry is available with prior registration.

If the incidence in Bremerhaven increases to over 200 in seven days per 100,000 inhabitants, access to the zoo should only be possible with evidence of a negative rapid test.
