Politico: Germany called for the purchase of "Sputnik V" at the European level

“We asked the European Commission to launch the purchase procedure for Sputnik V,” a German official told reporters at a briefing in Berlin.

He expressed the hope that the procurement preparation process can begin now, while the European regulator is considering an application for permission to use the drug in the EU.

According to him, Berlin would consider it right if the negotiations began immediately.

Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel did not rule out purchases of Sputnik V in the country, unless a common decision on this issue is reached in the European Union.
