Braunschweig (dpa / lni) - The basketball players of the Löwen Braunschweig have lost despite a clear lead in the newly promoted Niners Chemnitz.

The Lower Saxony lost 83:87 (50:35) to the Saxons on Wednesday and lost for the third time in a row.

In the table, the Braunschweig team missed the leap to eleventh place.

With 16:30 points, the North Germans remain in 13th place.

Coach Pete Strobl's team led after a 21-0 run with 17 points (37: 20/12 minutes) and were still clearly ahead at the break.

After switching sides, however, hardly anything worked.

The third round (21:28) and especially the fourth quarter (12:24) clearly went to the hosts and caused an unnecessary defeat in Braunschweig.

Martin Peterka was the best lion scorer with 18 points.
