All three winners of their quarter-final first leg of the Women's Champions League, FC Barcelona, Olympique Lyonnais and Bayern Munich took a serious option on the last four.

Nothing seems certain, however, for the English Chelsea.

Australian star Samantha Kerr opened the scoring for the London club.

The Dutch Dominique Janssen reduced the penalty mark for the finalists of the previous edition.

FC Barcelona took a big step towards qualification by largely beating Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg of the quarter-finals, relocated to Monza in Italy.

Barcelona won against the impressive Mancunian squad (Alex Greenwood, Lucy Bronze, Rose Lavelle) thanks to goals from Asistat Oshoala, Mariona Caldentey and Jennifer Hermoso.

The shock of these C1 ladies quarterfinals saw Lyon, five-time title holder, win against their French rival Paris Saint-Germain (1-0).

The Lyonnaises, who eliminated the Parisiennes in the semifinals of the previous edition by the same score, won thanks to a late penalty converted by their captain Wendie Renard (86th).
