British Foreign Office welcomed Canadian sanctions against Russians

"The UK welcomes Canada's bold step," the minister tweeted.

Earlier, the Canadian Foreign Ministry announced the imposition of sanctions against nine Russian officials in connection with the "deterioration of the human rights situation."

The Kremlin called these measures illegal and promised to take retaliatory steps.

The Russian Embassy in Ottawa stated that the next anti-Russian sanctions are absolutely illegitimate from the point of view of international law and are meaningless.
