Waren (dpa / mv) - The nature information center Müritzeum in Waren an der Müritz closes its doors again after only three days of opening.

As a spokeswoman announced on Wednesday, the increased weekly incidence of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the district is the reason.

On Tuesday this was 76.7 and thus already three days above the value of 50, it said.

The facility with the most visitors in the Lake District, with its large freshwater aquarium landscape, only opened on Friday for the first time this year - with a hygiene concept and Luca app - and initially wanted to be open until Sunday.

About 170 guests came on the first weekend.

Before the corona pandemic, the facility had around 150,000 visitors a year.

In 2020 there were around 34,500 fewer visitors, which meant, among other things, more than 300,000 euros minus due to ongoing feed and energy costs.

The shareholders are the district and the city of Waren an der Müritz.

25 employees work there.
