On Wednesday morning, it started burning in a lodge northeast of Valdemarsvik.

A total of nine fire engines and 18 people fought the fire.

Initially, there was a risk of spreading to other buildings and to the forest.

But around 08 o'clock, the rescue service had the situation under control.

- The situation is starting to look very good.

We will let the lodge burn down completely, but there is no longer any risk of it spreading.

We have started to settle with staff, but we will have some left during the morning, says Daniel Agerhult, internal commander.

No injuries

There were a number of sheep in the building that could not be rescued.

- There were no injuries.

There were possibly sheep left in the building, but it burned so heavily that it was impossible for us to determine, says Daniel Agerhult.

It was probably a total of five sheep and five kittens that burned inside.
