Hanover (dpa / lni) - Hanover Airport is slowly ramping up operations again at Easter.

Several airlines are expanding their offerings, especially towards southern Europe, as Lower Saxony's largest airport announced on Wednesday.

In the future, there will be 21 flights a week to Mallorca alone, including nine from Condor, six from Tuifly and four from Eurowings.

As a new airline, Austrian Airlines will be joining with a connection to Vienna from Thursday.

For trips to Turkey, three companies with 13 destinations should also be available in the summer season, including Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum and the capital Ankara.

The resumption of tourist trips, especially to Mallorca, is controversial because at the same time holidays inland are still prohibited due to the corona pandemic.

The airlines should therefore at least test the Mallorca tourists for the virus before returning to Germany.

The details are still unclear.

For further planning, the exact design of the announced regulation is required, according to the Tuifly holiday airline.
