Today, Wednesday, dawn, Israeli warplanes launched a series of raids on sites in the northern and central Gaza Strip, but no injuries were reported.

The Palestinian Ma'an News Agency reported that "helicopters bombed a resistance site southwest of Gaza City with 5 missiles, causing damage to the targeted site."

The raids also targeted a site in the east of Deir Al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, without any injuries reported, according to the same source.

The Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adrai, said in a tweet that the raids targeted a site producing missile weapons, in addition to another military site belonging to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip.

He added that the strikes were in response to the launch of a missile yesterday evening from Gaza towards Israel.

A missile in the Negev

And Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz called for urgent security consultations, following the launch of a missile from the Gaza Strip towards Israel on Tuesday evening.

The missile fell - according to an Israeli army spokesman - in an open area near the city of Beersheba, in the depths of the Negev desert, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was on an election tour there.

Israeli media reported that Netanyahu's bodyguards rushed to protect him and move him to a safe place, and no injuries or damage were reported.

The Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the aforementioned missile is one of the medium-range missiles owned by the Palestinian resistance, which is capable of reaching targets in Israel with a depth of 40 km.
