A resident of a residence in the 6th arrondissement in Lyon was arrested last week by the police.
As revealed by
Le Progrès
, this thirty-something is accused of having killed around thirty birds (pigeons, blackbirds, crows) since November by shooting them, from his balcony, with his rifle.
In this 11-story building, several neighbors have reported to the police in recent weeks the presence of a gunman.
“The month of February was a carnage, I saw pigeons being shot and I feared it would hit a child instead of a bird,” says a neighbor.
There were feathers everywhere and dead birds in the square that were eaten by the rats.
The association Dignité Animale lodged a complaint on February 15, presenting as evidence the lead taken by a veterinarian from one of the killed birds.
