Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The service union Verdi has called for more protection for educators and social workers in view of the sharply increasing number of corona infections.
"In Hamburg the bitter mark of more than 1000 Covid-19 infected kindergarten teachers will be reached these days," said Verdi spokesman Michael Stock on Tuesday.
Current data from the health insurance companies confirm that employees in these occupational groups become infected more frequently than other employees.
"The rapid tests and vaccinations for daycare workers are a good start," said Stock.
However, neither the vaccination quota nor the vaccination protection is currently sufficient.
"Where are the children's tests?" Asked Stock.
