Kleinsendelbach (dpa / lby) - After the killing of a nine-year-old boy in Upper Franconia, the police and public prosecutor's office continues to investigate.

On Tuesday, nothing was known about a motive of the father, who was arrested on suspicion of murder.

A spokesman for the Bamberg public prosecutor did not want to comment on the ongoing investigation.

In the coming days, the investigators would once again examine the crime scene in Kleinsendelbach (Forchheim district) in detail, the spokesman said.

Witnesses would also be questioned and items seized would be examined.

The nine-year-old boy was found dead on Sunday evening.

According to police, the suspect's separated wife wanted to pick him up early in the evening after he had spent the weekend with his father.

When the boy's father opened the door with a kitchen knife in hand, the boy became afraid for her son and called the police.
