On Monday, the Kalmar region launched three drive-in sampling stations for covid-19.

By car, the person carrying the suspected infection can pick up a sampling kit himself, test himself in the car and submit the test directly on site.

The stations are located next to the three major hospitals in the county: in Kalmar, Oskarshamn and Västervik.

And there has been a rush to the test stations during the first day, writes the Kalmar region in a press release.

In Kalmar, all times for Tuesday were booked early in the morning and in Västervik there were a few left.

But there have also been problems where people have arrived at the stations without having ordered a sampling kit or booked an appointment via 1177. Other people have arrived earlier than the time they have been allocated, and in both Kalmar and Västervik it has caused traffic disruptions, the region writes in the press release.

It also emphasizes the importance of first ordering your own test and then arriving on time, neither earlier nor later.

In total, the region's sampling capacity is expected to increase by 2,400 tests per week thanks to the new drive-in test stations.
