For his part, the President of the Government,
Pedro Sánchez
, thanked the volunteers who tried to revive the girl for their work.
"There are no words to describe so much pain. Thank you, from the heart, to those who have fought to the end to save his life," said the chief executive in a message posted on the social network
.
The Prime Minister has assured that the news "is a knock on the conscience of all of us."
"Nabody was 24 months old," Sánchez recalled in the publication.
The opposition leader has also lamented the death of Nabody, and recalled that he asked Sánchez for an agreement on immigration.
"It is heartbreaking that Nabody, the 2-year-old girl who arrived in a boat, has died," Casado said in a tweet in which he also recalled that "five months ago from Arguineguín I asked the Government for an immigration agreement."
In the opinion of the leader of the PP, "we must face this drama without being nice or radical, with effective border control and cooperation with the countries of origin."

was admitted in critical condition to the
Intensive Medicine Unit (ICU)
of
the Maternal and Childhood Insular University Hospital Complex of Gran Canaria
and has died this Sunday, according to sources from the
Ministry of Health
of the Canary Islands Government.
The girl, originally from
Mali
, was on board a boat that was rescued by
Salvamento Marítimo
in waters near
Gran Canaria
.
A total of eight children were traveling in it, two of them in serious condition.
When disembarking,
Nabody
was in cardiorespiratory arrest, so a member of the
Red Cross
practiced resuscitation maneuvers on the same dock until he was able to recover her.
