Berlin (dpa) - Short track medal hope Anna Seidel will experience her last Winter Olympics in Beijing in 2022.

This is what the three-time medalist at the European Championships in Gdansk said in the “Go! D” magazine of German Sports Aid.

The currently best German short tracker, who is in rehabilitation after an operation, is considered to be a medal hope for the Games in China.

The 22-year-old from Dresden would experience her third game in Beijing.

She has not yet decided whether she will end her international career immediately afterwards.

"There are many other things outside of competitive sport that interest me and that I want to do," said Seidel.

But first she wants to win the first Olympic medal for the German short track in Beijing.

"It is not openly stated, but you can tell subliminally that in Germany the medal is the only one that really counts," said Seidel.

But she feels that “I also expect the medals that are required of me from myself”.
