Koblenz (dpa / lrs) - Almost every sixth company in Rhineland-Palatinate currently offers its employees regular corona tests, according to a survey by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IHK).

Another 30 percent plan to do the same shortly, as the IHK working group Rhineland-Palatinate announced on Monday.

The survey is based on responses from 485 companies across all industries.

According to the information, many companies are faced with some hurdles when implementing in-house corona test strategies.

Almost every second company (46 percent) complains about a lack of information on handling the tests.

The lack of suitable training courses for the in-house implementation of rapid tests is an obstacle for every fourth company. Every fifth company reports problems with the procurement of corona tests.

Around half of the companies that are already testing their workforce would like financial support for the costs of the tests.

"If these hurdles are removed, the proportion of companies testing can be increased in the short term," said Arne Rössel, spokesman for the IHK working group.
