Bremen (AP) - Ilia Gruev will leave Werder Bremen and switch to Arminia Bielefeld as assistant coach.

Both clubs announced this on Monday.

Gruev was most recently responsible for supporting the loaned players in Werder's scouting department after head coach Florian Kohfeldt had rebuilt his coaching staff after almost relegation last season.

In Bielefeld, 51-year-old Gruev will work as an assistant to the new trainer Frank Kramer.

«Ilia has taken on a very important task in the field of loan player support, which he has done very well.

But it was his express wish to be able to work as a trainer again, and this opportunity is now given to him at Arminia Bielefeld, ”said Bremen's managing director Frank Baumann.

In Bremen, Clemens Fritz, Head of Scouting and Professional Football, is supposed to take care of the many loaned players again.
