Steinenbronn (dpa / lsw) - A 31-year-old is said to have pushed his ex-girlfriend off the Autobahn 8 near Stuttgart Airport on Saturday evening.

He is now in custody, as the police and public prosecutor announced on Monday.

The 20-year-old suffered minor injuries in the accident and had to be treated in hospital.

The young woman had previously reported to the police via the emergency number and stated that the 31-year-old was following her in the car.

Accordingly, since Steinenbronn (Böblingen district) he kept opening up tight, flashing the headlight and trying to cut off her path.

The emergency call broke off on Autobahn 8 in the direction of Munich.

According to the police, shortly afterwards road users reported an accident near a parking garage at the airport, where the 31-year-old pushed the woman away and then drove on.

The lanes in the direction of Munich had to be completely closed for a short time in order to record the accident and rescue it.

The 20-year-old's car was damaged by around 12,000 euros.

The man was temporarily arrested at his home address a short time later.

On Monday, an arrest warrant was issued for dangerous interference in road traffic, traffic accident escape and dangerous bodily harm.

Already a few days before the highway trip, he is said to have attacked his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of a supermarket in Steinenbronn.
