Würzburg (AP) - The Würzburger Kickers had to be content with a draw in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga despite a long lead.

In the 1-1 (1-0) on Sunday against Jahn Regensburg, Ridge Munsy (22nd minute) gave the bottom of the table hope for a win, but Andreas Albers (75th) managed to equalize.

Würzburg's deficit on the relegation rank is seven points.

Jahn is in the lower third of the table, but claims a reassuring lead over the relegation places.

The Würzburgers, who, unlike Regensburg recently, had to take a more than two-week forced break not because of corona cases in their own ranks, but because of the quarantine of Hanover 96, initially not only benefited from their own fighting qualities in the Free State duel.

Regensburg turned out to be weak in the final four days after the 1: 2 against Fürth.

The big chance of Charalambos Makridis was significant.

At first he didn’t overcome goalkeeper Hendrik Bonmann, but he kicked the ball past the margin (36th).

Würzburg was more callous.

The ball came to Munsy via Frank Ronstadt and David Kopacz, who completed it in a tricky and well-considered manner.

When Munsy had to get out injured, Regensburg struck.

The Kickers protested after the bitter equalization because they complained about a previous foul on Ronstadt.

It was also the seventh goal of the season for Albers after the preparatory work by Erik Wekesser.
