After pressure from the United States on Friday, Villa Somalia called for a meeting with the heads of federal states to finalize the electoral process.

It is due to start this Monday in the capital.

Representatives arrived in Mogadishu this weekend.

But the criticisms against the president persist, casting doubt on the holding of this meeting.

On Saturday March 20, the Forum for National Salvation, a new coalition of political actors, sent an open letter to the international community, criticizing the president's actions.

In its open letter, the Forum for National Salvation sent a clear message.

Mohamed Farmajo is seen as an obstacle to the organization of elections, "

without credibility to supervise the electoral process

".

The text describes "

dangerous efforts by the president to undermine any political agreement

 ."

He criticizes him in particular for leaving the negotiating table, two days before the end of his mandate.

The coalition also accuses Mohamed Farmajo of using the national security forces to serve his political interests.

A reference among other things to the sending of troops to the region of Gedo, in Jubaland, this weekend.

The discussions promise to be difficult.

The Forum asks that the security command be withdrawn from the hands of Mohamed Farmajo, ahead of this meeting.

And calls for immediate intervention by international actors.

An international community which has just put pressure on the Somali authorities on Sunday.

In a joint statement, several countries and international actors, including the European Union and the United Nations, called for the implementation of the September agreement and the holding of elections "

 without delay

 ".

Failure is not an option,

" added the US embassy in Mogadishu.
