In the infiltrator operation "Costa" last week, two men were sentenced to long prison terms for extensive drug smuggling to Stockholm from southern Spain.

In the documentary The Spanish drug coast, we see that the drugs that end up in Sweden are seldom manufactured in Spain, but often arrive through the Strait of Gibraltar on the Spanish sunny coast.

In this area, two of the most common drugs are smuggled in: Cocaine via cargo ships from South America and cannabis products via motorboats from Morocco.

Load with 4,000 kilos of hashish

In just ten minutes, the smugglers can cross the 13-kilometer-short strait, according to the Spanish police Guardia Civil.

The motorboats, equipped with triple engines, can carry up to 4,000 kilos of hashish with a street value of 5.5 million pounds.

- This type of motorboat is now illegal in Spain.

In order not to get them confiscated, they stay at sea, says one of the helicopter pilots.
