The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced that citizens of 37 countries were exempted from entry visas to Iraq, and considered that the decision aims to stimulate investment in the country.

Ministry spokesman Major General Khaled Al-Muhanna described - in a press statement - the decision as very bold, and said that it comes to stimulate investment and support the Iraqi economy.

"The decision included businessmen and companies from the permanent members of the Security Council (the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China), the European Union countries, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland, in exchange for paying the entry visa fees of $ 75 for a period of two months," Al-Muhanna added.

He stressed that those covered by this decision will be subject to all preventive health measures by the Supreme Committee for Health and Safety, and conduct examinations for the Corona pandemic.

Iraq seeks to attract investors and facilitate their entry to its lands by exempting citizens of some countries from entry visas, after the entry visa to Iraqi lands required approvals that take a long time, and may not be issued in many cases.
