Villingen-Schwenningen (dpa / lsw) - After a fire in a single-family house in Villingen-Schwenningen, a dead man was discovered.
The fire brigade discovered the body after the extinguishing work in the fire ruin, the police said on Sunday evening.
A resident was able to save herself from the burning house in Groppertal (Schwarzwald-Baar district).
She was taken to a hospital.
The investigations into the cause of the fire and the identity of the deceased are ongoing.
The detached house is at the level of the Riviera barbecue area.
The road through the Groppertal had to be closed for the extinguishing work.
The rail traffic was also stopped, as fire extinguishing water was pumped from the Brigach over the railway line to the burning house.
The estimated total damage is several hundred thousand euros, it said.
