Fürth (AP) - Promotion candidate Greuther Fürth failed in the Frankenderby in the 2nd Bundesliga.
On Sunday, coach Stefan Leitl's team saved a 2-2 draw in the prestige duel against 1. FC Nürnberg shortly before the end.
Enrico Valentino (57th minute) and Erik Shuranov (76th) had turned the game for the guests after Havard Nielsen (8th) Fürth had shot in the front.
In stoppage time, Dickson Abbiama (90 + 3) equalized for Fürth.
Nevertheless, the hosts failed to put pressure on VfL Bochum in the promotion race.
The table runner-up Bochum can take over the top of the table on Monday with a win at Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Fürth, on the other hand, remains third with 47 points from 26 games.
However, the fourth Holstein Kiel (46) still has two more games to play.

In the table basement, VfL Osnabrück remains under pressure after the 1: 2 (0: 0) against FC St. Pauli.
The Lower Saxony remain third from bottom of the table with 23 points.
The bottom of the table, Würzburger Kickers, did not get beyond a 1: 1 (1: 0) against Jahn Regensburg and, given ten points behind a non-relegation place, should hardly be saved.
