This afternoon, a man stabbed his ex-wife and their two children, aged five and 12, in an apartment in Alcoy and later committed suicide by stabbing his heart with the knife.
The aggressor, a foreign national, took his own life after his former partner left the house in search of help full of blood and half naked, as sources of the investigation told this newspaper.
The five-year-old boy is admitted with a serious prognosis to the Hospital La Fe in Valencia, where he was transferred after his father's virulent attack.
The girl, 12, and the mother are out of danger although their prognosis is reserved and they are recovering from their injuries at the Virgen de los Lirios Hospital in Alcoy.
The attack took place after 5.30 pm this afternoon in a flat on Avenida de la Hispanidad, in the center of the city.
The man broke into the house and barely without a word stabbed his ex-partner and their 12-year-old daughter.
His mother-in-law was also in the house, who has not been injured.
The worst part has been taken by the five-year-old boy who passed his father at the door when he was fleeing.
The man stabbed him on several occasions, leaving him in very serious condition, and then he ran down the stairs.
By then, her ex-partner had already left the house half naked asking for help and the neighbors alerted the National Police.
Feeling himself to be besieged by the agents, the man has stuck the dagger in his heart and has died on the spot, as the same sources consulted specify.
