"The United States and their allies are targeting our oil wealth and tankers like pirates," Tuuma said in an interview. "What happened during the war in Syria has not happened in any other country. According to Tuma's estimates, the direct and indirect losses suffered by the Syrian oil industry amounted to US$92 billion.
He emphasized that Syria's oil industry was deliberately targeted by the enemy because it is the country's main source of economic income.
According to the Russian Satellite Network, Syria produced 400,000 barrels of oil a day before the war, bringing in revenue of $73 million per month.
