For VIPs from overseas who will come to Japan for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, the government is requesting each country to limit the number of attendants as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus.

At the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in the summer, important people such as leaders and ministers are expected to come to Japan to attend the opening and closing ceremonies, and France will be the host country for the next 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics. President Macron of the United States is assumed.



In this regard, the government is requesting countries and regions to limit the number of attendants as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus.



Specifically, the total number of VIPs and attendants is, in principle, required to be up to 12 for the president and other leaders, and up to 5 for the ministerial level.



In the future, the government will determine the number of personnel based on their respective intentions and prepare for acceptance.
