INTERVIEW

Backpedaling.

Guest from Europe Evening Saturday, Alain Griset, the Minister for SMEs, returned to the government quack of the exit certificate for the third confinement, in force since Friday at midnight.

Mocked on social networks as soon as it was published, the two-page document and fifteen exceptions was finally deleted for trips of less than 10 km, Saturday in the middle of the day.

"A very good thing", according to the minister, who admits that "this is all very complicated".

"Anything that can be done to make life easier for the French in this situation is welcome, and I am happy that this decision has been taken," adds the minister, who estimates that this will allow the 21 million French people to be reconfigured for au at least four weeks of living "a little less difficult" the month to come.

No relentlessness on shops

The fact remains that this confinement goes badly with some, in particular traders who have to close again.

The president of Medef, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, also denounced Saturday morning, on Europe 1, a "relentlessness on the trade" on this subject.

But for Alain Griset, there is no question of relentlessness.

"It has never been said by the government that small businesses were a place of contamination," he recalls.

And to drive the point home: "What we are saying is that we must avoid the mixing of the population and displacement. And that is the objective of closing essential shops."
