Munich (AP) - Bayern coach Hansi Flick assumes that Joshua Kimmich will be available to the German national soccer team in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The midfielder had to take a break from FC Bayern Munich's 4-0 Bundesliga match against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday due to a cold.

"I think the doctors will give him the go," said Flick after the game.

For now, Kimmich still has two days to recover.

The national team will meet in Düsseldorf on Monday.

With goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who was sick recently, it only took two days until he was healthy again, as Flick noted.

DFB captain Neuer was back in goal against Stuttgart after a break in the 2-1 win against Lazio Rome in the Champions League.

The DFB selection will play against Iceland in Duisburg next Thursday.

The games in Bucharest against Romania and again in Duisburg against North Macedonia follow three days later.
