In Sweden, about 40 percent of the population has some form of allergy.
Of them, 20 percent have some form of pollen allergy, the most common being birch pollen.
Cold symptoms or allergies
Now that the pollen season has started, it is not always easy to know what cold symptoms are and what allergies are, as they can be similar.
But there are also things that separate them.
- One thing that is important to remember is that allergy is a specific reaction in the body, says Daniel Svedin, allergist at Falu Hospital.

And now in times of pandemic and vaccination, many are also wondering if the vaccine affects allergy sufferers more.
