“In accordance with Art.
107 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I decide to put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated March 11, 2021 "On the creation of a center for countering disinformation," the document says.
Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, was charged with monitoring the implementation of the decision.
The decision of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council to establish the center indicates that its task will be to counter current and projected threats to national security and the national interests of Ukraine in the information sphere, to effectively combat propaganda and destructive disinformation campaigns, as well as to prevent manipulation of public opinion.
Earlier, Zelensky said that the center for countering disinformation in the future should turn into an international hub for combating propaganda and the spread of inaccurate information around the world.
