“Aleksey Vlasenko is being held in a four-bed quarantine cell for newcomers to the isolation ward,” said a member of the commission. 

Vlasenko's cellmates are former law enforcement officers, the human rights activist added. 

The POC members asked for a kettle or a boiler to be placed in the cell.

There is no TV or refrigerator either, they said.

“Vlasenko has not received the parcels yet, he is sitting in the one in which he was arrested.

He has not yet received the money to his personal account in the pre-trial detention center for purchases in the prison store, ”the POC reported. 

The Basmanny Court on March 17 authorized the arrest of Vlasenko until May 16. 

56-year-old Vlasenko is a multiple European champion, world record holder in swimming in the Masters category.

Since 2010, he has been the President of the Russian Diving Federation, since 2016 - the head of the synchronized swimming and water polo federations.

He has been a member of the ROC executive committee since May 2018.

Vlasenko is the chairman of the Diving Technical Committee of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and a member of the Bureau of the European Swimming League (LEN).
