  • Politics: The PSOE precipitates a motion of censure in Castilla y León to prevent Mañueco from calling elections

The attorney for Citizens for Salamanca

María Montero

announced this Friday that she is leaving the parliamentary group - and will therefore remain as a non-attached attorney - due to "lack of leadership" and "regeneration" in Castilla y León, three days after Parliament debate the motion of censure raised by the PSOE against the autonomous government.

"The decision is the result of a deep reflection, of an exercise of honesty with the people who voted for me and whom I represent. Today I stop belonging to this parliamentary group thinking that this decision is the best for the present and the future of Castilla y León ", has transferred in a statement to the media.

The parliamentary group of Cs has 12 attorneys in the Cortes of Castilla y León, and 29 the PP.

Both are the parties that support the action of the coalition government in the community in this legislature, chaired by the

popular

Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, with

Francisco Igea

, from the

as vice president.

The PSOE, which has presented a motion of censure with its leader,

Luis Tudanca

, as a candidate for the presidency of the Board, has 35 attorneys;

and the Mixed Group is made up of two parliamentarians from Podemos, one from

Por Ávila

, another from

UPL

and another from Vox.

The majority to make the motion of censure succeed are 41 votes in favor.

"A team with continuous changes"

"I am leaving a group without leadership, in which teamwork does not exist, in which a few decide for all and with continuous changes of opinion regarding political decisions, some of great importance regarding the future of the community" , he has argued.

The Cs parliamentarian for Salamanca recalled that she ran for the elections in 2019 "with enthusiasm, thinking that change and regeneration would come to this land after more than three decades of Popular Party governments."

"However, it was agreed with the PP and two years later I sadly verify that this has not been the case," he added.

"In these circumstances, I cannot continue to belong to a parliamentary group that has not fulfilled the promises made to the citizens of Castilla y León," he said.

And she explained that she will continue as a prosecutor and that she trusts that "her decision" will be respected and "will not be subjected to any type of harassment by those who do not share it."

Cs requires the act to the attorney

Ciudadanos Castilla y León has requested María Montero to hand over her act of attorney "by virtue of the commitment signed with the

training

through the Citizens' Ethics Charter".

As stated by the formation in a statement sent after hearing the decision of the attorney, the Ethics Charter, in point 16, "requires the outgoing position elected or designated by Cs to return their minutes in the event that they cease in the militancy of the party for any reason or if in the future it is not morally willing to fulfill any of the commitments described above. "

In the same way, the formation has argued, in the case in which it is an independent assigned to Citizens, the public or designated position "undertakes to abandon the public positions that it held on behalf of Cs, if it is formally required to do so. by the central organs of the party, for just cause, or if he is not morally willing to fulfill any of the aforementioned commitments. "

For its part, Ciudadanos Castilla y León has stressed that "it will maintain its political activity and continue with its programmatic lines that led it to have representation in the Cortes of Castilla y León."
