Saudi Arabia announces regulations for this year's Hajj season

The Saudi newspaper "Ajel" revealed that controls have been issued for this year's Hajj season by the Ministry of Health, with the arrival of domestic pilgrims obtaining the vaccine doses approved in the Kingdom against Corona before the beginning of Dhu al-Hijjah.

Sources explained to the newspaper today, Friday, that the controls also included obliging pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom to take an anti-corona virus vaccine approved by the World Health Organization, provided that the second dose of the vaccine is about a week before entering the Kingdom.

The controls included that all those charged and workers in the Hajj receive the two doses of the vaccine approved in the Kingdom against Corona, at least a week before the start of the mandate, and the mandatory wearing of the muzzle for all pilgrims and workers at all times.

The sources added that the regulations for this year's Hajj included showing a negative certified laboratory test result for the Coronavirus, 72 hours before arriving to the Kingdom, and quarantine for 72 hours after arriving in the Kingdom.

During this period, the approved laboratory re-examination after 48 hours by a contracting party with the field service provider for pilgrims, and the controls included reaching 60% of the population of the cities of Makkah and Madinah from the target groups for vaccination, before the beginning of Dhu al-Hijjah, and excluding the most vulnerable groups from Nomination for Hajj, limiting the age groups between 18 - 60 years, and coordination for the pilgrim's departure from the residence outside the basic program with the application of the approved precautionary measures.

The controls emphasized the importance of the spacing within the residence at the accommodation by a distance of one and a half meters between the pilgrims, and scheduling the movement of the flow of the pilgrims into groups so that each group is defined in advance and with at least one accompanying group leader, and each group does not exceed 100 pilgrims, and determining the periods of stay in the Hajj areas for each Stage, and take advantage of all legal licenses to ease the regulation.
