Hanover (dpa / lni) - Lower Saxony's schools are to be opened further, as announced, despite the rapidly increasing number of infections.

It is planned that from Monday there will be alternating lessons with divided classes in all schools and age groups - alternating at home and in the classroom.

“It remains with the regulation that we have in the regulation.

That means, where the incidence is below 100, can be opened wider, ”said Minister of Culture Grant Hendrik Tonne (SPD) on Friday in Hanover.

13 of the 45 regions in Lower Saxony are currently above the 100 mark.

For the time after the Easter break, the development would then have to be reassessed, said Tonne.

Although there are more infections again, the safety precautions in the form of vaccinations and self-tests have also been increased.

From Monday on there is a week of exercises in schools for dealing with corona self-tests.

However, many schools had not recently received any test kits.
