Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - In order to support operations in the kindergartens, the Ministry of Social Affairs in Saxony-Anhalt wants to provide 300,000 corona self-tests for children by Easter.

With the expansion of the test offer, the state is taking on a pioneering role nationwide, the ministry said on Friday.

More than 200,000 rapid tests have been organized for all daycare employees since mid-February.

The tests are voluntary.

The self-tests provided for the children are user-friendly - a swab in the front nasal area is sufficient.

According to the ministry, parents receive operating instructions and an instruction video from the facilities.

Every child should be tested once a week until Easter.

After Easter, the test capacity is to be expanded to two tests per week.
