Berlin (dpa) - Germany's family doctors are expected to start nationwide with the corona vaccinations after Easter - but with only one consultation hour per week.

This is provided for in a draft resolution from the Chancellery, which the federal and state governments discussed on Friday at their vaccination summit.

It was available to the German Press Agency from several sources.

"With the quantities that we expect in the first weeks of April (...) it will be possible to start with about one vaccination consultation per week in general practices," said Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) on Friday in Berlin.

Step by step there should be more vaccinations.

Last week, before the vaccination with the vaccine from the manufacturer Astrazeneca was interrupted, the countries injected almost 1.8 million vaccine doses.

In the week after Easter, almost 3.3 million cans are to be delivered.

According to the draft, resident doctors will administer around one million doses of it.

With a participation of 50,000 practices, that would be 20 cans per week.

There should be a surge three weeks later: In the last week of April 5.4 million doses are to be delivered, of which 3.2 million will be administered in the practices.

They should be relieved of bureaucracy.

Then, for the first time, more doses could go to the practices than to the vaccination centers.

2.25 million cans per week are to be reserved for the centers, as can be seen from the draft of the Chancellery, some of which has been agreed in advance.

In some federal states, vaccinations are already possible in selected medical practices.

Cancer patients, for example, are cared for here.

PROTECTION OF POLLUTED BORDER REGIONS

In order to be able to ensure a minimum quantity of one million vaccine doses for the doctor's offices in the weeks after Easter, plans are also to use 270,000 Biontech / Pfizer vaccine doses from an additional delivery of 580,000 doses.

The remaining 310,000 vaccine doses would then be intended for use in particularly affected border areas.

Specifically, the paper names Saarland because of its proximity to the French department of Moselle as well as Bavaria, Saxony and Thuringia because of the critical situation on the border with the Czech Republic.

How many vaccine doses should go to which federal state is not yet quantified in the draft.

ROLE OF ASTRAZENECA

The new vaccination plan was made possible by a decision by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) the day before.

After a new examination, the EMA had reiterated its assessment that the vaccine from the British-Swedish manufacturer Astrazeneca should continue to be administered.

After several cases of blood clots in veins, Spahn temporarily stopped the vaccinations with the preparation on Monday.

On Thursday he lifted the stop together with the federal states.

"The benefit of the vaccination outweighs the currently known risks," judged the Standing Vaccination Commission.

The preparation has been used again in Germany since Friday.

But an extra warning about the possible rare blood clots should be added.

PRIORITY IN VACCINATIONS

According to the draft from the Chancellery, the respective doctors should first specifically invite the particularly vulnerable patients.

Spahn urged the countries to protect people with previous illnesses and high risks of severe or fatal Covid-19 courses first.

"With all understanding for vaccinating 30-year-olds in certain occupational contexts, it is also important to vaccinate the elderly with a view to the development of infections," said Spahn.

The SPD health politician Karl Lauterbach said: “The risk of dying from an infection of Covid is 600 times higher for an 80-year-old than for a 30-year-old.

Therefore, I am very critical when it comes to suggestions to change the sequence of vaccinations. "

The fact that teachers, such as those in North Rhine-Westphalia, are given priority vaccination has been causing criticism for days.

First, people with an increased risk of a severe to fatal course would have to be vaccinated, the federal and state representatives for the concerns of people with disabilities had demanded.

WAIT FOR THE SECOND VACCINATION

According to Spahn, almost all federal states are now waiting as long as possible with the second dose so that more people can soon receive the first vaccination - six weeks for the preparations from Biontech / Pfizer and Moderna, and twelve weeks for Astrazeneca.

Lauterbach said: "If you prefer the first vaccination at Biontech and Astrazeneca now, it will save between 8,000 and 14,000 lives in the third wave."

IMPACTION FORECAST

According to the draft from the Chancellery, around 15.4 million vaccine doses will be available in Germany in April.

The delivery quantities should then continue to increase.

In the second quarter, according to previous information, 46.6 million cans from Biontech / Pfizer and Moderna and - after an announcement that has been revised downwards - 15 million Astrazeneca cans will be delivered.

"The federal and state governments are sticking to the goal of being able to offer all citizens a vaccination offer in the summer," says the Chancellery draft, confirming Chancellor Angela Merkel's (CDU) previous vaccination goal.
