Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - In Hesse, corona vaccinations should be possible with general practitioners after Easter.

This was announced by Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) on Friday in Wiesbaden after the vaccination summit in Berlin.

"We made the decision today that we want to involve the family doctors - already in the first week of April, that is, right after the Easter holidays," said Bouffier.

A quota of one million doses is available for the first few weeks of April to allow doctors to begin, Bouffier said.

Mathematically, that's about 20 doses per doctor.

"Of course that's not that much," said the country chief.

With this decision, however, Hessen brought forward the start of mid-April.

In the course of April, the amount delivered is expected to triple, said Bouffier, to around 60 cans a week.
