Halle (dpa / sa) - The acquittals of the four young men who were accused of mistreating a prisoner in the juvenile detention center in Raßnitz (Saalekreis) are final.
This was announced by a spokesman for the Halle regional court on Friday.
Neither the public prosecutor nor the accessory prosecution filed an appeal against the judgment.
The prosecutor had accused the four defendants, born between 1998 and 2002, of rape and dangerous physical harm at the beginning of the trial.
They were initially accused of having fixed their fellow inmate in his cell in April 2019 and then physically abusing him and "performing joint sexual acts on him," as the authorities said.
In the course of the hearing, several witnesses questioned the credibility of the alleged victim's portrayal.
