Dresden (dpa / sn) - Around 9500 companies, self-employed individuals and freelancers in Saxony can now hope for further financial support in the Corona crisis.

The processing of the applications for the so-called bridging aid III and the restart aid for solo self-employed began on Wednesday, the Saxon Ministry of Economic Affairs announced on Thursday.

The federal government has already paid discounts of 82 million euros.

«No healthy company should go bankrupt due to the Corona crisis.

In East Germany in particular, many companies do not have the financial reserves to wait any longer for the promised aid, ”said Minister of Economic Affairs Martin Dulig (SPD).

Most recently, a total of 351 million euros were paid out to applicants from Saxony as part of the December and November aid.

Bridging Aid III is intended as support for companies, self-employed persons and freelancers who do not exceed an annual turnover of 750 million euros.

Freelancers as well as non-profit companies and organizations that have recorded a drop in sales of at least 30 percent between November 2020 and June this year will receive fixed cost subsidies.
